I really enjoyed preparing the meal and I realized that I learned many
techniques that I can use on other meals. I can't wait to get started on
the Basics series! This is so much Fun.

Foodie Events

It's our pleasure to put together "foodie" events for our community that underscore
our common interest in food and wine. Here's what we've got cooking:

Sacrificio
In times gone by, people were more directly involved with their food, from produce to meat. Eating meat used to involve some
history: a knowledge of the animal itself and how it was raised, down to its actual butchering. We believe that this knowledge
is critical to a holistic understanding of the food we eat. In the past and still today, in some countries a village
would come together to slaughter an animal, celebrating their bounty and working together to preserve what meat wouldn't be eaten right
away. Culinary Communion is pleased to participate in a renewal of this tradition.
Join us for our first annual Sacrificio, a day for families to come together over the slaughter of a pig and make it an event
of community and compassion. Sunday, January 13, at a farm in Gig Harbor, we will gather with kids, music, and wine, to create a
"village" and show gratitude for our land of plenty. Event cost is $40 which will cover live music, your lunch, and of course the pig
itself and fees to the butcher. Exact time is TBD.
This year's Sacrificio is full, but if
you'd like to be on the waiting list, please email us.
